Welcome to Our Woodland Paradise

Living in the woods in Brown County Indiana is like stepping into a utopia where nature reigns supreme. Surrounded by towering beech, cherry, maple, pine, hickory, walnut, and poplar trees, our log cabin is a haven of tranquility. The symphony of chirping birds and rustling leaves provide the soundtrack to our daily lives, while the occasional visit from snakes, deer, raccoons, opossums, bobcats, and even turkeys adds an element of excitement and wonder.

Each day brings unique and thrilling experiences as we navigate our way through this lush wilderness. From the breathtaking beauty of vibrant sunsets painting the sky in hues of orange and purple, to the adrenaline rush of spotting a majestic deer gracefully leaping through the trees, there is never a dull moment in this natural paradise we call home.

The Joys of Woodland Chores

Living in the woods comes with its fair share of chores, but we have come to embrace them as opportunities for connection with our surroundings. Waking up early to chop firewood and tending to the crackling fire that warms our cabin on chilly nights not only provides us with a sense of self-sufficiency, but also allows us to appreciate the importance of sustainable living.

As we toil in our vegetable garden, we are reminded of the cycle of life and the miracles that occur within the soil. The feeling of nurturing a tiny seed and witnessing it grow into a bountiful harvest is a satisfaction like no other. We find solace in knowing that we are part of a larger ecosystem and that our actions contribute to the well-being of the forest and its inhabitants.

Adventures Beyond Our Cabin Walls

While our cabin is our sanctuary, we also love exploring the wonders that lie beyond its walls. The vast network of hiking trails in Brown County State Park beckons us to embark on thrilling adventures. With every step, we discover hidden waterfalls, secret caves, and breathtaking vistas that make us feel alive and connected to the Earth.

One of our favorite pastimes is wildlife spotting. Armed with binoculars and a sense of curiosity, we venture into the heart of the forest, hoping to catch a glimpse of elusive creatures. Observing the graceful movements of a snake slithering through the underbrush, or the mischievous antics of a family of raccoons playing in the trees, fills us with a sense of awe and reminds us of the beauty of the natural world.
